What makes the two so different, which one is better, and can both be used on any particular engine?What is the difference between synthetic motor oil and non-synthetic oil?
synthetic oil is man made and is a lot better than convential oil and you can use it in any engine, it lubricates better than regular oil and you can go longer between oil changes.What is the difference between synthetic motor oil and non-synthetic oil?
Synthetic oil has man made long chain polymers in it.
Non-synthetic has Dinosaurs in it.
Synthetic oil is oil consisting of chemical compounds which were not originally present in crude oil (petroleum) but were artificially made (synthesized) from other compounds.

Advantages
The benefits for synthetic motor oils include:
* Better low temperature viscosity performance.
* Better high temperature viscosity performance.
* Decreased evaporative loss
* Reduced friction
* Reduced wear
* Improved fuel efficiency
* Chemical stability
* Resistance to oil sludge problems
* Some synthetic motor oil producers offer extended drain intervals
Disadvantages
The disadvantages of synthetic motor oils include:
* Initial cost
* Potential oil seal problems - if the oil does not contain sufficient seal conditioners.
* Potential decomposition problems in certain chemical environments
* Potential stress cracking of plastic componentry like POM (polyoxymethylene) in the presence of PAO's
Since you change your oil every 3000 miles I see no need to use synthetic, it is a waste of money. My dad has 300,000 miles on his Dodge Intrepid and has always used regular motor oil and his car dosent leak or burn 1 drop of oil.....
Older cars,anything before 1980 as a general rule,do well with conventional oil,non syn,newwer cars from the factory and for the last 12 or so years have been using either a semi syn or full syn oil so I wouldnt go with conventional oil in anything new. Will the full syn oils you get better fuel mileage and longer times between intervals I myself use Amsoil and go 25K between oil changes and at 45K havent had a single issue with it. They do cost more but it saves you more in the long run on fuel,wear and tear on the engine and its far easier to havea paid car than a brand new car every three years.
oil is pump out of the ground with lots of particles
synthetic man made - no particles.
Well the main difference is non-synthetic oil is basically plain oil from the earth. it will work but not the best. however synthetic oil is human made in a laboratory, it offers the best protection for your engine.
