Is motor oil the same oil people use to make gasolene for cars?

If it isnt, could someone tell me what the diffrence is?Is motor oil the same oil people use to make gasolene for cars?
everything that comes out of the ground is crude oil... ok?

now...

they refine it, or in laymans terms they distill it

as the oil is heated, different gasses are let out first, methane, propane etc.and captured

then the liquids start to boil off, the lightest first as in naptha, then gasoline , kerosine, diesel ,

as each one boils off it is distilled and cools, liquefies and put into tanks

until you get to the heavier stuff,

the oils then finally the greases.

hope that clears it up, there are more items and steps , but that is a quick run down

take careIs motor oil the same oil people use to make gasolene for cars?
yes ,but you might be surprised where some of it comes from ,some is made from a derivative of coal ,it's what the synthetic oils are made from ,there are also plant additives one is the caster bean ,it yields a very slick oil ..........tom
When they MAKE gasoline, one of the many By PRODUCT is motor oil.

CRUDE is what is used to make gasoline.

Good Luck...
Gasoline is one of the byproducts of refining crude Oil into Motor oil and other petrolium products
Gas is made from the waste product after oil is refined, so is Vaseline.
